Documenting the diversity of public health in Bangladesh.
Hungry Rohingya children. A girl's dazzling smile. An improvised bamboo ambulance. Last year, MPH student Md. Zohirul Alam, MBBS, wanted to document the diversity of public health in Bangladesh. So, in collaboration with local NGO Gonoshasthaya Kendra and Gono Bishwabidyalay (university), he launched the country’s first-ever public health photo contest. It attracted 133 photos from 68 participants and drew national media attention. The winning photos were collected in a book, Public Health: Through the Lens.
